Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

We are a church of believers in Jesus Christ, committed to him as our Lord and Savior. As forgiven sinners, we strive to place Christ first in our lives.

We accept and preach the Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the Christian Church reformation in the 16th century. Luther’s teachings are summarized in three words: Only Scripture, Only Grace and Only Faith.

Scripture Alone

The Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative, and applicable to our everyday lives.

The Bible testifies to the Word Of God becoming flesh in Jesus Christ. The authority of the Lutheran church is rooted in the testimony of scripture. The Lutheran church reads that testimony through the eyes of the gospel, which is the good news of Jesus Christ.

Grace Alone

We are saved by God’s grace alone and not by doing good works, believing the right things or behaving in a certain way. Indeed we are not even able to participate in our salvation, because humans are and will always be sinful. Sinfulness is part of the human condition we cannot escape. We completely rely on God in Christ to be graceful and save us even though we do not deserve it.

Faith Alone

Our salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ, as both God and man, lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove He is God and restore our relationship with Him. God imputes his righteousness to us through Christ.
